Special Interest Groups

Would you like more information specific to your area in hospice and palliative care?  Special Interests Groups (SIGs) aid you in keeping current within a specialty area and to provide an opportunity to network with members with similar interests via email.

You don't need expertise in a particular topic area to be a member of the SIG.  In fact, some SIGs may be particularly helpful if you are exploring an area of professional development as any member of the SIG can post a question or ask a question.

As a HPNA membership benefit, there are no additional fees associated with participating in the SIGs. Sign up for one or more!

The HPNA Board developed special interest groups in 2003 in response to the 2002 membership survey. The Board has further expanded these due to the requests of our members.

Signing up for a SIG includes agreeing to the listserv  rules or 'etiquette' described in this pdf file.  Download SIG listserv rules.  You must have an email address to participate.

The HPNA Special Interest Groups are:

  • Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)
  • Cultural Diversity
  • Geriatric
  • Nursing Administration
  • Nursing Assistant
  • Pain
  • Pediatric
  • Public Policy
  • Research

Want to sign up for this membership benefit? Log into the Members Only area of the website and visit the 'Change my Information' tab.  This is where HPNA members choose to join or remove themselves from SIG lists.  For any questions, email SIG@hpna.org.
